Car Alarms: Jeep Laredo wont start, jeep laredo, alarmtek

Greetings,
I unlocked the drivers side, went to start the car, and within seconds, the
emergency lights began to flash as well as the security light, without any
sound.  The car then lost power.  I began exploring unlocking and locking
both the drives and passenger doors, and also the back.  With the key in the
ignition, and turned once to right, all the doors shut, I did hear a ticking in
the center front area, but now that has subsided.  How can I disable my car
alarm all together.  Again, I have an automatic 4x4 1995 Jeep Laredo.  Thank
you for you assistance.  In regards wiring, I do need instructions in very
simple English to help me better understand what to do.

Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED flashing in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.
