Car Alarms: Viper 690xv on 300zx. Vehicle not transmitting signal back to remote., 12 volt, installation forum

Hello,
My remote still locks and unlocks the car fine. However it does not indicate whether it is unlocked or locked. The symbol always reads unlocked. According to the manual, the signal icon that is displayed means that the command is transmitted to the vehicle but a command page is not receieved. The remote talks to car but car does not talk back to remote. How can I sync them? Thank you.
