Car Alarms: 1997 Sebring JXi Car Alarm Problem, ohm resistor, alarm functions

Question
I am no longer able deactivate my alarm using the remote. In addition the remote will not release the trunk or unlock/lock the doors. I have changed the batteries in the remote with no luck. In addition the door lock buttons in the car will not lock/unlock the car. I can't start the car because when I try the alarm goes off (headlights flashing, horn honking, etc.). This car has sat unused for a couple months so I am suspecting a wiring corrosion or breakage issue. Is their a way to disable the alarm so I can move the car?

Answer
You can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
lt green/orange + positive
in the Drivers Kick Panel above hood release.

The Factory alarm arm requires a positive trigger
with a 940 ohm resistor wired in series.
Factory alarm disarm requires a positive trigger
with a 470 ohm resistor wired in series.
see POSIITVE RELAYS at ww.relayhelp.com

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

I hope this helps.
