Car Alarms: 2007 Honda Car Alarm keeps tripping, alarmtek, fuse box

Question
QUESTION: If I lock the doors, manually or via the remote, the factory installed alarm randomly goes off.  It is a windy, gusty day.  Could that cause it?  How do I disable it or reset it to be able to lock the doors on a windy day?
ANSWER: Dear Ms. Patti,
Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

QUESTION: It is a factory alarm.
The car horn honks

Answer
Since I did not get the Model of Honda,
I will give a more involved answer.

Ok, here's what I know about the 07's.
First, not all of them have OEM
(original factory equipped) alarms.

The following is what does and does not.
(and the sensor settings can not be changed.
a visit to the dealership for inspection
would be required, or you can terminate the
factory alarm completely.)

All ACCORDS:

The Alarm Disarm wire in the Accord,
is WHITE  (- negative) at the module in
the drivers door.

The CR-V:

The Alarm Disarm wire in the Accord,
is BROWN  (- negative) @ Drivers Fuse Box.

The FIT

The Alarm Disarm wire in the
WHITE  (-)  DRIVERS KICK , IN HARNESS
COMING FROM THE DOOR(WHITE PLUG)

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions.

At this point though, these cars would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect them from here on in.

However,

In the Civic (07')
the Pilot,
the ELEMENT,
you are factory alarm free and
are probably dealing with a dealer
installed aftermarket system before
they sold you the car.

In this case, there will be an overide
switch, located to the left leg area
under the dash.

The overide procedure is normally
as followed:

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.

I do think also, that the shock/impact sensor is set
too high to accomodate wind gusts, UPS trucks,
Harley's etc... Try to locate the sensor under the dash
or take it to the dealer to have it turned down of off.

But unfortunately, your's sounds like the first
option. and that it's up to you to decide how to
procede.

Keep in touch to let me know.
