Car Alarms: My truck wont start, viper remote start, competent mechanic

Question
I have a 2004 Gmc Envoy and has a Viper remote start alarm system. 3 days ago while i was driving the truck it turned off and the abs and brake light came on and also the gauges of the rpm and mph started to go up and down.I put the truck in neutral and it started again. I got home and turned the truck off and then tried to start it again, but it wouldnt, the only thing it does is that the rpm and mph gauges go up and down and the abs and brake lights turn on in the dashboard. The only way you can start it is with the remote, but as soon as you put the key in and press the brake the truck shuts off.

Answer
This is only a suggestion and I would strongly recommend getting the truck to a competent mechanic to have it diagnosed.  If the truck starts fine using the remote start without having the gauges 'jump' around then I would think that one of your supply circuits in the factory wiring is no longer supplying.  Check all the fuses and pay attention to the heavier fuses.  There is more than one constant hot supply in your ignition harness and it sounds to me that the installer only used one of these supplies.  Since the vehicle starts via remote fine then the one the installer used is still good and the other is no longer supplying voltage.
