Car Alarms: 1993 Volvo keyless entry, keyless entry system, power locks

QUESTION: When I bought the car the guy gave me a keyless entry remote but it didnt work so I went and bought a remote start/keyless entry system, I have the remote start working fine but every wiring combination I've read about and tried for the power door lock circuit hasn't got me any results. It seems that the only way to use the power locks is to use that remote. Any suggestions?

Easy.
These are 3 wire negatives.
Use your manual for the wire configuration/colors.

then locate the:
POWER LOCK yellow/gray |-  |black connector above
POWER UNLOCK green/red |-  |hood release

and straight tap to the wires.

That's all there is to it.
