Car Alarms: FUSION old model will not disarm/valet, impact sensor, date system

Question
Car came with older fusion alarm - damn thing sets itself everytime i walk away for a minute or two. Under dash is a push button and a plastic box with wires and two small dials that can be turned like a volume control. But they don't do anything - i have pressed the button with ign on, played with dials, even unplugged the box but makes no change i can tell - still self arms when i don't want it to. is there a trick to these old ones?

Answer
No, no trick, the alarm is a passive arming alarm.
It waits for the last door to close, then 30 secs
later, it arms and locks the doors. If there is an
"active" option, you'd need to locate the manual
to toggle between the two settings.

On that "box", it's your system's shock impact sensor.
The turn wheels are the sensitivity settings, and
if going counter clockwise, would turn down the sensitivity,
up to make it more sensitive. I'd unplug it.
As a matter af fact at this point, I'd remove the whole
system and replace with an up to date system,
but that's me.

Good luck with this one.
