Car Alarms: Clifford Matrix 3 car alarm, car door locks, mercury grand marquis

Question
Hi, I recently purchased the wiring diagrams for my Mercury Grand Marquis 1994. They are easy to follow and very detailed. I some questions, the Clifford Matrix 3 has 2 wires marked : Unlock #87a normally closed(brown/black) and lock #87a normally closed (white/black). Are these the negative door lock wires from my alarm? I also noticed the 87a number in these wires (like it has a relay on it), Do I still need to use the other relays that are mentioned in the instructions you send me? Do I need to cut the actual car door locks wires or do I just connect to them? and do I make that connection at the door lock switch wires or the door locks solenoid wires?

Sorry to ask these many questions but I already burned the factory keyless entry module once and it wasn't easy to find one, so I'm just double checking. Thanks in advance.

Answer
More than likely, you need to talk to our resident
Clifford/Viper installer/tech TWELVOLTZ on this as
I don't install your systems here.

Go over to www.INSTALLSUPPORT.com for help on alarm
specific info.

If the car had an OEM keyless system, the locks are positive, tapping, no cutting.

If no OEM system, then it's 5 wire reverse. and then would
need cutting. But if your system only does negative locks,
then you probably will need external relays.

See what they have to say in the forum on your system.
