Car Alarms: 95 jeep grand cherokee limited, jeep grand cherokee, grand cherokee

Question
Hi there;
I just bought a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited,lien sale, and received one key. When I install the key in the ignition and go to start the engine, ignites and shuts off as if the fuel pump was not working. The lights flash but there is no horn beeping. On the dash it say "security system" I have been told that 95 Jeeps have no remote entry systems and the security system is "basic" Any help would be great.

Answer
Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The Factory Disarm wire is VIOLET/YELLOW (-)
in the DRIVER'S KICK PANEL "BLACK PLUG".

Once Located, splice into either wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good evening.
