Car Alarms: 2005 Hyundai Elantra - Alarm randomly goes off, 2005 hyundai elantra, bumper to bumper warranty

Question
I have a 2005 Hyundai Elantra.  When I lock my car with my remote...it just started this morning...my car will go into panic mode randomly!  I work at a golf course and can't have my car doing this - I called the place I got it, they said it's probably not covered under bumper to bumper warranty...but what could be causing my car to go into panic mode/alarm is going off?  Is there a way to fix it, or do I just lock the car manually from now on out? :(

Answer
Hard to say what you have there, alarmwise,
but you can look around for the valet/overide switch
under the dash area, and place it into service mode until
you either locate the door open, or circuit open in the car
that is setting off the alarm. You can also turn down or
turn off the shock sensor, as this can be causing it as well.

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.

I hope this helps you figure it out.
