Car Alarms: campman alarm, exact model number, programmable option

got a used 94 chevy silverado. it has a chapman alarm system, but after 30 sec. of not touching the car the alarm rearms itself. is there a way to stop the alarm from rearming,and arm it manually. i would greatly appreciate a response.thank you

This is probably a programmable option.  Most systems have a way of turning off the passive arming.  Without the exact model number however it would be difficult to say how to program it off.

Take a look under the driver's side dash and try to find the brain of the system.  The exact model number will be listed on the brain itself.  Once you have that, head over to http://techservices.codesystems.com/ and sign up.  It is a free service offered by code alarm/chapman/audiovox.  They list their manuals there, and the manual would cover how to turn the passive arming off.
