Car Alarms: 95 ford bronco, ford bronco, kick panel

Question
Just bought a this bronco with what i believe to be an after market alarm system and as i was driving it home one day a beep started coming from under the dash. the beeping went on and off for about an hour then it wouldnt go off and then all the sudden it just died. and a light is flashing "theft" on the dash. how would i just disable the alarm? I believe it to be an audiovox.

Answer
The blinking word "theft" tells me you are dealing
with a FORD issue, not an aftermarket one.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
dk.green/purple |-|, Located in the drivers
door harness, in the kick panel area.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
