Question
QUESTION: I own a Nissan Altima GXE 1998. The anti-theft alarm keeps on going off randomly from time to time. I have to shut it off by pressing the unlocking key. Is there anyway i can completely have it shut off? So that the alarm wont go off from time to time.
ANSWER: Please describe what "goes off" means.

Siren, parking flashing lights, flashing LED
in the dash area?
or,
Car horn honks, headlights flash and the
word SECURITY" or "ANTI-THEFT" shows in the
instrument cluster?

This info is necessary for me to assist
you in disarming.

QUESTION: Basically, the car horn honks, headlights flash, and to turn it off i would have to press the door unlock on the key. This happens during day time and night time. The car would be still, and the alarm would activate, horn honks and flashing lights. I would like to shut it off completely.

Answer
If your ALTIMA factory alarm is indeed malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing
the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
green/yellow  |-| at the smart entrance control.
The smart entrance control unit is located to the right
of the steering column.  It is black or blue in color.

Once Located, splice into either wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
