Car Alarms: anti-theft, rear quarter panel, purple wire

we have a 93 ford explorer, we followed some of the directions from previous emails regarding anti-theft alarm problems... and we spliced into the green/purple wire and ground it and this did not fix the problem... do you have any other ideas?

Are you certain it's the correct wire?
dk. green/purple |-|dr. kick or alarm disarm wire
at the Anti-theft module, located by keyless in rear
quarter panel. Double check to see it's actually the
factory alarm issue you are having.

If you are unsure, then you may have an aftermarket
system in there. Let me know if this is the case.
