Car Alarms: factory alarm, chrysler cirrus, 1995 chrysler cirrus

Question
i have a 1995 chrysler cirrus and 3 days the alarm went off which i didnt know it had.now the horn blows and the head lights flash just wondering how to fix it.

Answer
Since you mention that you did not know you had an alarm I would have to think this a factory alarm.  The factory alarm will disarm if you unlock either front door with a key.  It should also disarm via the factory remote (if equipped).  When you turn the key in either door it sends a specific resistance to the module.  The module sees the correct resistance to positive and will disarm.  Here are the specifics that DEI lists:

CHRYSLER, CIRRUS, 1995, Factory Alarm Arm

Lt. green/orange from drivers door or dk. green/orange from passenger or catch either at BCM located behind right side dash. Use a positive (+) trigger thru a 940 ohm resistor to arm, and a positive (+) trigger thru a 470 ohm resistor to disarm. Must use relays.

If you can not disarm the alarm by using the key in either door then I would think there is something wrong with the security module in the vehicle.  If there is, then I would recommend taking the car to the dealer to have it repaired.
