Car Alarms: disable alarm, cherokee laredo, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: My alarm goes off randomly on a 1996 Jeep Geand Cherokee Laredo.  How can I disable the alarm.
ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Many veriables on this vehicle &
I Require a bit more imput please.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.

QUESTION: It is this one - Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?  I do believe it is the factory alarm.

Answer
Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
purple/yellow |- a negative trigger|
in the door harness, or it is
Also located in the same 14 pin black connector as
the door triggers.
There are 5 separate trigger wires in this 14 pin black
plug at the Body Control Module (BCM)
located between the steering column and
the drivers kick panel. The plug is located in the drivers
side front corner of BCM just behind the knee bolster.
All wires in the plug exit straight down. The door trigger
colors are tan, tan/red, tan/orange, and tan/yellow.
The trunk trigger color is tan/black.
You are looking for the purple/yellow.

Once Located, splice into either wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
