Car Alarms: problems with factory installed alarm, toyota celica gts, toyota celica

I have a 2003 toyota celica gts,  for the past 2 months off and on I have had problems with the alarm going off even though I had pressed the unlock button on my remote.  In the last 2 weeks its been getting progressivly worse.  Now as soon as u turn the ignition off,  the alarm sets itself (even if u are still in the car) and if u open the door full alarm will sound...  at times it takes up to 20 minutes to shut off the alarm and then disarm it so the car will start.  Is there any hope of this being an easyish do it yourself fix??

I think you need to inspect the main power wires
in the ignition column. If this is an aftermarket
alarm, my guess is that the ignition wire is either
misconnected or on the incorrect wire.

If factory, you need to go to Toyota for inspection
of they're system and reset/repair if need be.

That's a good path to start out with.

Let me know what happens here.
