Car Alarms: Ultrastart Alarm w/ remote start, alarmtek, shock sensor

Question
My husband has an Ultrastart alarm on his 2005 Silverado.  For the last couple of months, the alarm goes off several times during the dau for no reason.  Is there something I can do to stop this?  Prior to recently, it worked great.

Answer
Usually Sharon, the Ultrastart alarm is
on the door trigger(S). If yours is the same, the alarm seems to
be reading an open circuit in the truck.
A light left on, or door ajar, even something
plugged into the cig light can be detected as the
alarm reads the battery drain and then triggers the alarm.

This system also has a 2 stage impact sensor.
If set too high, most anything that can
cause vibration in or around the vehicle,
could trigger it as well.
This is more likely the problem. But I want
to give you all the things that can do it.

Solution? Have your husband get in to the
area under the dash, locate the brain of the Ultrastart,
then turn down or off the shock sensor.

Then test under the same conditions by waiting to
see if it triggers at the same time it did prior
to the change you made. If not, then you've suceeded
in your task. Pin it up and have a party.

If not however, then the door triggers are the culprit, and will need to be addressed.

Let me know how it goes.
