Car Alarms: Prestige Alarm Wont Shut Off, prestige alarm, brain box

Question
After resetting the alarm (with valet switch)I finally got power to the starter.  I had to disconnect my battery to shim the starter and when I reconnected the battery, my alarm went into chirp mode... not really loud, but a continuous chirp. The led inside the car was flashing also. I tried to reset the alarm again but could not get it to do anything.  Light would continue to blink but chirp would go away with ignition switch turned on. I had to disconnect my battery... I have an old Prestige APS2K4MS with auto start (which doesn't work either). Any suggestions?  Keep in mind, I cannot start my vehicle to take it in.

Answer
Use he Valet button and ign. key again.
Key in and in the on position, just before cranking,
press and hold valet in until it resets.

If this does not do it, the alarm has to be
unplugged and re-plugged, If no joy there,
I think you may have a damaged brain box there.

There is a relay inline on the vehicles starter wire.
If you can not get the alarm to cooperate, then
get in there, cut out the starter kill relay inline,
then pull the brain box, and send it to Audiovox for
review & repair, or trash it, and replace.
(suggested)

Either way, the starter kill relay is holding you
up here. Let me know what transpires.
