Car Alarms: Genesis by Delta, acting wierd., valet mode, typical procedures

Question
Hi, recently I had my car in for repairs. When I got it back I noticed that the alarm had been reset (from valet mode to "Live" mode. I keep it in valet mode because with 4 young children it was always going off. I noticed that the clock on the radio was not set to the correct time, indicating that the battery had been disconnected. Now I can't set the alarm back to valet mode. Even following the typical procedures, turn the key towards on, push the reset button under the dash....the system is 7 years old. I took it back to the shop that installed it...unfortunately it's all 20 year olds working there...no one recognized the system. They tried playing with the system but only made it worse. Now it goes into valet mode but immediately goes back to "live mode" when you start the car. After you turn the car off it locks, then starts chirping....help....Thanks.

Answer
Hard to say from my perspective since I can not
inspect what's happening there, but my first
thought is that it's in armed/triggered panic mode,
and will need to be uplugged from the harnesses,
wait for approx 1 minute, then plugged back in and put into and out of valet mode at that point.

Please make sure you give the button press 5 to 7 seconds
for it to reset, and the key is in the on just before
cranking position. If this does not work, I would update
and upgrade the system you have, as it is going to be
most difficult trying to get service and or support
on it.

Keep in touch and let me know what
you discover.
