factory alarm..my battery went dead..now the factory alarm sets on,now it wont start the display says wait 3 minutes.i wait the 3 mins. then try to start but it won't.so is there a way to start by pressing data eng. and another button together to make it start..or you know where i can obtain this information?..thanks alot in advance..

In either kick panel there is a green wire.  This wire serves as the factory alarm disarm wire, when you unlock either door with a key it sends a ground pulse to the alarm telling it to disarm.  If unlocking both doors with a key does not disarm your alarm, grounding this wire should disarm it for you.

ok were looking on either side of the kick panel on the passenger side they're are several green wires..can you show me in a diagram where it could be located..or by pushing certain console buttons..or  maybe under the hood where it might be located i tried un locking both doors using the key to disarm the alarm and still no luck..

you would have to remove the kick panel and find the harness that runs into the door, in that harness is where the wire will be.


ok i tried that and still no luck..i can tell you right now it's not the pallets on the key..the ignition has been replace 2 years ago due to theft..so it has been replace with a standard ignition..we disconnected the battery for 15 mins..and tried again still no luck..car keeps reading due to theft please wait 3 minutes..we tried this several time..is there another way we can disarm this alarm to the car..besides grounding the wire (green)..please help..thanks!

If it was replaced with a standard ignition, how did they bypass the VATS system?  If they did a resistor based bypass then it is possible the resistor broke or came loose.  If the computer does not see the correct resistance it will give you the please wait 3 minutes response.  Take a look at the ignition harness, where it runs down the steering column, you should be able to see where the resistor was added to the VATS wiring.
