QuestionRecently the vehicle had over heated... While the hood was up a snow plow had splashed the vehicle's front end to back... Now the vehicle will turn but not fire at all... there is no fire sound... just crank... The security light is not on... Is there a chance this is related to the factory alarm not working/malfunctioning? or do you think I am asking the wrong question?
AnswerProbably not. This sounds like a starter/distributor
problem, could be bad alternator or battery
at this point from the cold, but the alarm is dependent on the power the truck supplies. If the power source
has issues, so do the accessories (alarm), feeding
off of it.
Best bet is to check the charging system and
of course the battery for the source of your problems.
