Car Alarms: Factory Security System, factory security, security mode

Question
I have a 1997 Ford Explorer that will not start, I beleive it is not allowing fuel through the injectors because the Alarm System is preventing communication from the ECU to the injectores, I need to be able to override the Alarm system, as I beleive it has gone into Security Mode, how can I do this? Thanks

Answer
According to the tech information I have your 1997 Explorer has what Ford calls "PATS", there is a chip in the key that the BCM needs to see to allow the vehicle to start.  If the key you are using is an original key that used to work, I would have to think you need your PATS module replaced.
