Car Alarms: factory alarm, vanden plas, valet service

Question
Mr. Martin,

I read your tip on disabling a factory alarm on a '95 Jeep GC Orvis Ed.  It worked great.  I also have a '92 Vanden Plas Jag.  The factory alarm is wonky and I believe is part of why the battery drains after a few days (I've tried new batteries).  Any tip as to disabling this alarm system?
 Thanks very much.

Answer
My notes on this Justin do not show any factory
alarm system. I checked several databases,
UK included, and no factory alarm. So maybe
this aftermarket system was fitted at the dealership?

Please look under the dash area, hidden from
plain view, for a valet/overide button or switch.
If found, for a button type, key on, press and
hold the overide button untill the siren chirps 1
time, and possibly the lights will flash.

This is Valet/service mode, and the alarm is disabled.

If a "flip" switch type, key on, flip the switch in
the opposite direction, key off.

This is Valet/service mode, and the alarm is disabled.

However, there may be an open relay on the alarm like
starter kill, that needs to be removed if the
drain persists.

Let me know what you discover.
