Car Alarms: disarming car alarm, 95 geo prism, car wires

Question
I guess i was wrong on some of the stuff, thats women for ya. there is a light on the dash not a switch. she didnt put in the alarm and has never used it . It just came with the car, the light was on then and the guy said dont worry about it and it has never gone off. Maybe the cold did it. the alarm did go off after she went into the passenger side door, but the car seemed to be in a locked position and would not allow us to start the car. she took it to a alarm place and for 45.00 they said they dismantled the alarm from the switch, she started the car... drove home and when she turned the car off the alarm went off again how did that happen if they disconnected it from the switch?????  Do you have a 800 number??We are in Amherst N.Y.

help!! no men to help. My daughter bought a 95 geo prism a few years back and the guy told her that the light was on for the alarm but not to worry about it and it has never given her a problem. Now the alarm has gone off and cant get the car started. She went to the passanger door and it turned off but cant get the car started without the alarm going off. There seems to be a box but cant see a reset button any help would do. thought about clipping wires but what if we clip the wrong ones?

Ok from the sounds of this it is an aftermarket alarm, am I correct? If so look around under the dash on the kickpanel in the glove box all over for a little push button or switch. If you cannot find it take the time and very little skill here but find that black box you stated and trace the wires from it to the wires in the car. You can cut them were they connect to the car wiring just make sure no wires are bare when you are done. If any of the car wires are cut just splice them back together. There will probably be at least one wire cut that is the one not allowing the car to start. Just reattach it back together. All the wires will be different colors so as long as the same colors are connected. If this is an oem alarm reply me and I will get you a way to disable that alarm also.
If you need to you can email at denny@bargersaudio.com I can give you my Phone # also by email if you want or need to talk in person or while you are trying to do this and get stumped.

Answer
Well for 45.00 they should have removed the alarm all together. I am not sure how that would happen if they claim they did this. It sounds as thought they are taking you for a ride hoping you will not know the difference. When this alarm went off the last time did the car start? I do not have an 800 # sorry I really do not do much mail order to need an 800# I would call them and ask them why this happened and why they did not completely remove the alarm. If it is not working right anyway there is no reason to keep it at all. Ask them to remove it. Also this light is it a little red light that someone put there? Or is it a factory light and a factory alarm?
