Car Alarms: remote start on 99 4runner, viper alarm, remote starter

Question
I have a Viper alarm with remote start.  My problem is that i can not start the vehicle with the key it idles for a second then shuts down.  If i start with the remote it works perfect.

My suggestion is to remove
the remote starter connections, and then try
the key again. If it starts, get a technician
in there to re install the remote starter,
because right now, there IS a problem and
it may persist or even progress into something
else that will cost big $$$!
