Car Alarms: Prestige Car Alarm, subaru legacy gt, keyless entry pad

I just bought a 2000 subaru legacy gt with an aftermarket remote starter/alarm. The keyless entry pad is labelled " Prestige ". I can open the drivers door but if I put the key in the ignition it sets of the alarm ( horn honking, etc. ) If  I open any of the other doors it gives to low volume beeps when I shut them. Please help as I need to drive the car! Thanks in advance.

Prestige is made by Audiovox, and they offer great customer support.  If you go to techservices.audiovox.com and sign up you can access all of the installation manuals they have to offer.  This can give you a better understanding of how the system is installed and a list all of the available options it has.  If it is the Prestige that is causing the problems you are having you should be able to put the system into valet mode by turning the ignition key to the on (run) position and pressing/flipping the valet switch.  The valet switch is normally under the driver's side dash.
