Car Alarms: Marksman alarm system in PT Cruiser is switched off, valet mode, dealer locater

Hi,

I bought a used PT Cruiser with a Marksman alarm system. At first it functioned very well, but then somehow I switched it off and I don't know how to activate it again.

It must still be working, because when I'm pressing the red button on the remote for some seconds the alarm goes on. Unfortunately, I don't have the manual for it.

I hope someone can help.

Is the LED indicator lit solid?  

This sounds to me as if you may have the system in valet mode.  Valet mode is normally activated and de-activated by the remote or a switch inside the vehicle.  To activate via the switch you would need your ignition key in the run position and either flip or push the switch.  The owner's manual would explain how to do this in much better detail.
