Car Alarms: disarm factory alarm on a 1995 nissan pathfinder, nissan pathfinder, valet mode

Question
QUESTION: How do you disable a factory alarm on a 1995 Nissan pathfinder. When I recently put the keys in the driver side and turned it to open it, it turned on the alarm and since I do not have the alarm button anymore, I don't know how to turn it off. The horn is not connected so we do not have the disturbance, but I cannot start the car at all. I need help A.S.A.P.

Thanks

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: Well I thought it was a factory alarm, but your description on the after market alarm sounds about right.
"is it: flashing parking lights,an LED in the dash area, and a siren going off?= AFTER MARKET"

since the siren under the hood has been disconnected it is not going off, but the rest of the description sounds right.

please advice.

Thanks

Answer
Ok, should be fairly easy. To try to disarm it,
look under the dash area for a button or,
a toggle switch. When you locate it, turn on the
ignition key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

That should solve the troubles for now.
Repeat the steps to toggle back to valet when needed.

Let me know what you discover.
