Car Alarms: remote starters, subaru outback, alarmtek

Question
I had a remote starter installed on a 1999 subaru Outback. This unit did not have any keyless entry functons since my car already has that from subaru. My keyless entry doesn't work when I'm in the remote start mode(car running, no key in ignition) Is there any way to overide what I assume is a subaru security or saftey concern and use my keyless entry at the same time as the remote entry?

Answer
That issue is probably a safety feature built
into your remote starter. If bypassable, the
setting would be in the installation manual
to allow for lock and unlock when running.

If not available, then it is your remote start
shutting out the keyless entry, not the outback
door lock system.

Read your manual for the unlock/lock option
when running if applicable.

I hope this helped.
