Car Alarms: Auto Start Suddenly Quit Working, valet mode, fcc id

Question
While out shopping at the mall this evening I attempted to remote start my truck to warm it up.  I had been in and out if the truck 3 times while at the mall, unlocked and relocked it without any problems.  I noticed that the truck was not running and found that the remote (Auto Mate-FCC ID EZSDE1476) would not work to unlock, lock, or start the truck.  I went back into the mall and purchased a replacement 2032 battery.  Still no luck. It was suggested by the locksmith that I had somehow "deprogrammed" my Auto Mate remote and needed to reprogram it. My other (unlock/lock only) remotes work just fine. Have any ideas?

Answer
It sounds like you are in valet/overide mode.
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.

That should do it.

If it does not work out this way, you will have
to replace the system with one you know how
to operate and what to expect.

Let me know what happens.
