Car Alarms: Python 1500esp, auto start, batt

Hi, I bought a used 99 Bonneville. Changed alt. hooked batt. up car started. Found it had a auto start python 1500esp did not come w/remote. Ordered remote tried to program doors and alarm work but know it just tries to start 3 time but does not fire. Diagnostics says low or no rpm code #3 Can you tell me what this means, did I program something wrong? Please help I am going to have to go a long way to get this looked at. Try reprogramming the tachometer.  If the LED does not light when programming, switch the unit to voltage sensing, turn the sensitivity to low and increase the crank time to .8 seconds.  How to acomplish this is explained in detail in the owner's manual which can be found here http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=431
