Car Alarms: Sidewinder 6500ESP Remote Start Issue, guage wire, inline fuse

Question
Thanks so much for the fast response!
I ran out and checked for fuses - there are two fuses just off the brain that is tucked up under the dash.  One is a 10 amp, and the other is a 15 amp.  I pulled both and checked them - they are fine (not blown).  Tried the remote start and it works, but still no heater/blower.  Are there any other fuses I should be looking for?

Thanks again for your help.

-----Question-----
I had the Sidewinder 6500ESP installed in my 2001 Dodge Dakota about 3 years ago, and it has been working great until last week - I had to replace the battery after the old (original) one died.  Now when I use the remote start feature, the truck starts up just fine, but the heater/fan blower does not come on.  Did I short out the "brain" when I replaced the battery?  All other features of the unit are working properly (alarm, auto start, etc.).

Thanks in advance!

Don't think it's a short. More then likely
it's an inline fuse that blew when the battery
surged on. Go in the underdash area and locate
the brain box. Trace the wiring and see which
inline fuse is blown and then replace and try
again.

Let me know if that did the trick.

Answer
Does the heater and ac come on when you insert the key,
start the truck, and manually turn on?

If so, the accessory wire on your remote starter
may either be misconnected, or possibly burnt
and is malfunctioning. Most aftermarket
car starters have an 8 guage wire,
usually orange in color,
that is going to your accessory core wire to
turn on when you remote start.

If yours is as well,
it will be attatched to the BLACK/GREEN wire in
the ignition harness. There is also a GREEN wire
in the same harness listed as a 2nd ACC wire.
If no juice is going to either of these wires
during remote start, then unfortunately, you will
need to replace it.
