Car Alarms: Alarm System, chevy express, dash panel

Hi,
My question concerns a 1996 Chevy Express passenger van.  It has become intermitten and has a mind of it's own.  How do I properly disconnect the alarm until I can afford to have it repaired?

If it is a system you had installed, it should be covered under warranty from the place you had it put in.

Most all after market systems have a valet switch, flipping this switch with they key in the on position should disable the system.  If there is no switch, pulling the fuses should disable it as well, this would take more time as you would need to pull the dash panel down under the steering column and find where the system was tapped in and remove the fuses supplying the brain.
