Car Alarms: 2000 Honda Accord EX alarm will not turn off, honda accord ex, honda accord

Question
A few nights ago my alarm went off for no apparent reason and would turn back off for a few seconds and than go off again.  I basically did this non-stop through the night until the battery was dead.  I went ahead and charged the battery, but the minute I hook it up the alarm horn starts going off. In this mode I have no way to start the car.  The minute I try to start the car the horn starts beeping even quicker and louder.  Any ideas on how I can disarm the alarm so I can drive it to be looked at?

Answer
According to the tech sheet if it is an EX and it is a factory installed alarm, unlocking the driver's door with the key should disarm it.  If it is the LX it will only disarm with the factory transmitter.

If it is an after market alarm there will be some type of over ride switch that can be activated by turning the ignition key on and flipping it, but if it is honking the horn I would tend to think it is a factory system.
