Car Alarms: vats kit, resistor, resistors

i got the resistors and the relay to make a vats kit the problem is that i do not know how to do it i would like you to teach me how to measure the resistor in the key last time i tried doing it i cut both vats  wires[they are white wires] which go on the orange tube .i put the leads of the multimeter one in each wire after i have cut the measurement was 0.477 but i do not know if i did it right or wrong the car didnt work i would like to know if it was possible if you coud teach me how to measure the resistor on the key and how to make a vats kit using the resistors and the relay i mean how to make the connections of the relay on the resistor and in the vats wires of the car.thank you a lot

To measure VATS resistance, just measure across the pellet in the key, one probe to one side the other probe to the other side with the meter set on resistance.
