Car Alarms: 99 BUICK LA SABRE CAR ALARM, lifetime warranty, alarm car

Question
CAR INTERMITTENTLY FAILS TO START. TECHS HAVE LOOKED AT THIS PROBLEM AND TOLD ME THE CAR ALARM NEEDS TO BE DISCONNECTED. WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE TO DISCONNECT THIS ALARM?

Answer
If you really want to disconnect the alarm, take off the panel under the steering column and look at the ignition harness.  This harness will have wires tapped into it running to a brain.  Remove all the fuses from the alarm and disconnect all of the harnesses from the brain of the alarm.

I would look into the actual cause of the problem though, most of the time it is a simple repair and all of the shops I know give a lifetime warranty on installation.  With a lifetime warranty on installation they would troubleshoot this problem for free.  Take it to the shop where it was installed, and you may be pleasantly surprised.
