Question
hi, i had just bought a 94 chrysler eagle it runs great and everything, the only problem is if you press the lock button to lock all the doors and then try to open the driver door with the key the alarm sounds. but its not a siren the horn sounds off. the security system is stock. we managed to turn it off but we did alot of things and we dont really know what we did to turn it off. i was wondering if you could help me out with this..

Answer
Eagle was a division of Chrysler for a while, you do not mention which Eagle it is.  I am going to go with the assumption it is a 1994 Eagle Vision.  In the 94 Eagle Vision the factory alarm arms with lock and disarms by sending a negative pulse to the lt.green/orange wire found in either kick panel.  When you turn the lock cylinder to unlock this sends a ground to the wire and disarms the alarm.  You can do this by unlocking either front door with the key.  If the driver's key cylinder is not sending the proper ground to disarm but the passenger door is, then I would say the cylinder needs to be replaced.  I do not know how much this would cost, but if you do not already have key less entry for the vehicle, it may be less money to have a key less module installed.  The key less modules include a 'factory alarm disarm' output that would need to be tied into that lt.green/orange and would disarm the alarm every time you unlocked the door via the remote.
