Car Alarms: 1994 Honda Civic remote is broken, norm reeves honda, fcc number

Question
I'm the third owner of my 94 civic so I do not have any sort of manual for my alarm system.   I dropped the keyless entry remote that came with the car into the ocean and it no longer works.  I think I misplaced the broken remote so I don't have the FCC number on hand.  I can describe what it looks like and I know it had Norm Reeves Honda printed in white on it.  It's kind of boxy and grey with a green panic button and a black arm/disarm button.  So two buttons total.  Anyways, I think the remote is discontinued and I wasn't sure if any other remote would be compatible (like a bunch they have online).  I really don't know what to do at this point, but I know I want to get my alarm up and working.  I turned the switch under the steering wheel to the "off" position and am now entering and locking my car using the key.  Please give me advice on what I can do.  Thanks in advance!

Answer
Take down the panel under the steering column, find the ignition harness and trace back the wires to find the brain of the alarm system.  Once you have found this you can do a web search for the model number(or just reply to this with another question and I will see what I can come up with).  Without the make and model of the alarm there is no way to tell for sure if a replacement transmitter is available.  Getting a replacement transmitter should be fairly inexpensive, and most after market systems are simple to program a new remote to.
