Car Alarms: Car alarm installation - troubleshooting, steel mate car alarm, car alarm system

Hi,
I recently installed a Steel Mate car alarm system, but whenever the alarm is disarmed and a door is opened, the indicators flash for about 10 seconds. This happens every time a door is opened.
Is this a fault in the product or the wiring?

Also there are 4 wires comming out of the siren, but i only know what 3 of them do. +,earth, and siren connection from the alarm box. There is a blue cable (same colour as trigger wire) but it is not shown on the wiring diagram. Is it necessary?

Not certain about this but the siren
wire may be in a loop configuration.

Just leave it alone if so. It May control
the siren's tones, duration etc...

The door trigger seems to be incorrect, or
the ignition (switched) sense wire is incorrect,
as it seems to be sending back a falsing readout.

I would go back in and go over the door trigger wire,
and determine if you have the true ignition hooked up as well.

I don't know the stealmate system, but most Chinese alarms
have these kinds of thing pop up. Contact your seller
if these fixes do not help.
