Car Alarms: 1993 Jeep car alarm, jeep grand cherokee, external sensors

Question
how do you adjust the sensitivity and/or disable a the factory car alarm on a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee?  The one on my secretary's is very sensitive to wind.

Answer
It appears to be aftermarket if vibration or
motion is setting it off.

The alarm brain is under the dash, and most
likely so is the impact sensor. The sensor
will blink red and green if you tap on the
vehicle. This is the device you need to work with.
Once located, there is a wheel inset on it that
would be turned counter clock wise to decrease
the sensitivity, or turn it off all together.

Without being there to inspect there is always
a margin of error, but factory alarms do not
have external sensors like she is experiencing,
so an educated guess is the aftermarket device.

Let me know if this helped.
