Car Alarms: 90 prelude alarm troubleshoot., kick panel, dome light

Question
I just recently did an alarm install on a 90 prelude.

After installation the alarm works fine, but, the speedometer, tachometer and dash illumination doesn't work. Also, the clock works but is only visible when it's button is pressed.

Already checked all the fuses under the dash and hood.

I mistakenly connected the parking light wire from the alarm module to the yellow accessory wire initially, but, that's was corrected during post installation testing.

Only other significant event i can remember is a faint popping sound from a white connector located closer to the middle console and accessible with all the panels on.  This connector contains the 2-wire harness for the beeping sound when the door is open.

Some of the things i researched so far is that it could be a grounding problem and that there's an in-line fuse, ...

These were the wires i used:

+12V - White
Ignition - Blk/Yell
Parking Lights(+) - Red/Blk
Starter - Black/White
Trunk Pin(-) - Green/Black @ passenger kick panel
Door Triggr(-) - Blk/Wht @ passenger kick panel

Answer
When you touched the wrong wire to the power, you appear to have zapped not only the alarm system, but 1 or 2 of the master fuses (30-40 amp under the hood) that control all of those items.

This can happen and does normally if you attatch the dome light illumination wire directly to the dome light wire without the use of a relay.

Best suggestion is to remove the alarm, repair the
master fuse you blew and start over. But I have a feeling
the alarm is damaged too. But from what you said here,
that's my best advice.

Good luck with it.
