Car Alarms: Car starter, alarmtek, hidden key

Question
Hi,
I just had a POLAR car starter/alarm put in my 2002 Honda Civic.  They took one key and hid it in the engine somewhere. Now I only have one key with a chip.  My question is, Do I need to go out and get another key with a chip in it to start the car manually, or will a key without a chip start the car since there is already a chip in the car?

Answer
The trick here is that prior to installing the key under the dash, they should have advised you to get a third (coded) key made for this purpose. If the spare you have now starts it, then no worries, if it does not, take out the hidden key, have another one made at Honda, and then put it back in place. Better safe then sorry in this instance.

Good question by the way.

Thanks.
