Car Alarms: using car alarm, stage shock sensor, shock sensors

Question
I have a prestige car alarm/auto start model APS786. The alarm is very sensitive and goes off for it seems like no reasons sometimes. Are there different levels of sensitivity that i can activate through my remote?

Answer
No, not to my knowledge Ryan. There is a 2 stage shock sensor under the dash that has an adjustment wheel on it.
If you can locate it, turn it off, or down (counter clockwise) to get the desired sensitivity.

I personally do not care for shock sensors because of what you are experiencing, so I opt not to install them unless the customer insists. Rely on the door triggers and if you need a warn away sort of sensor, go for a microwave motion sensor. The only time it would trigger is if MOVEMENENT is detected, not vibration. Less chance of falsing that way.

See if you can locate the shock sensor, and simply unplug it for a time to see if you like it better too.

Good luck with it.
