Car Alarms: 98 Camry Securikey+ help, valet mode, alcohol swab

Question
Well, i tried pressing the button after a couple of hours, and it worked.. it didnt run the LED constantly.. so i went out to the car and i tried it a couple of times to unlock..but it still wouldnt respond.. after 5 times or so of trying..the LED went back to being constant.. but for some time it was working normal..
I tried to alcohol swab it but i keep getting a constant LED. NOw when i press a button, it blinks constantly, as if i have kept pressing it but then a couple of seconds it just turns into a straigh red light, as if you turn on a light bulb..

im still trying to get help from Toyota, but the dont seeem to be good with customer service.. called them twice already but they dont seem to have an alarm expert "on the clock" today

please advice...

Question -
98 camry LE

This morning when i went to unlock my car the remote key system did not work, so i used the keys and unlocked my car..
i had locked my car the night before, but in the morning there was no light blinking and no alarm went off.

The same day, i went home after activating the alarm but when i tried deactivating it through my remote, it wont work..
the security light is blinking telling me that the alarm is active. So i tried opening up it with the key itself, and the alarm went off..

Now the remote key has a constant red light (as apposed to blinking when lock/unlocked is tapped)

IM not sure if its in valet mode or if that is the sign of my battery low..
please advice

From what it sounds like, the remote is always
sending a signal. keeping the alarm engaged.

Remove the battery cover, and the battery to start.
then using isopropal alcohol, swab it generously,
then try to unstick the button keeping the signal
going, until you get the LED, ONLY when pressing
the button. That should do it.

Just sounds like a bit of maintanance
is required here.

Try it, and let me know what you find.

Answer
I do understand. Can be vey frustrating trying to
get a dealer to do anything.

Either keep trying to get a replacement transmitter,
or simply buy a new system here, and I will help you
install it. This is not too hard in this car
for a novice installer, & is probably the best/least expensive way to get er done!

Let me know and we'll look into the
possibilities according to your needs.

Be Well.
