Car Alarms: viper alarm, car alarm, viper alarm

Question
I just bought a used car that has a viper alarm.  I went to a local car alarm store to have it recoded, but they could not do it.  It now uses the same button to put the alarm on and to disarm it.  I was told that I would need to find the codes on line and find out how the car was alarmed.  I want the alarm to go off when the doors open.  Do I need to get a new alarm or will it be possible to get this one recoded?

Answer
The trouble there is once you recode the system, you will
still be unaware of what the system does. If it were me,
I'd go ahead and start fresh with an alarm/keyless system
I knew and could depend on. It makes for a better,
more secure experience in the long run.

Good hunting if not interested in new.
I think you would need to contact a DEI dealer
for the info. www.directed.com
is a good place to start.

Luck with it.
