Car Alarms: viper alarm, flashing light, better days

Question
my alarm came with my truck and recently it fails to signal that it has been armed or disarmed. the flashing light can be seen for either task, but the siren does not go off. can it be a bad horn or connection? it will go off occationally, but hardly anymore. also is there any where i can go to get the codes for this alarm? the only extra i was given is how to disarm it with the remote. thanks for your help

Answer
No at this point, you would need to disable it
alltogether and replace it with one you know and trust
with full warranties and dealer back up. Trying
to repair an older alarm usually means throwing
good money into a system they may simply have
see better days. In viper's it's even harder to fix up
since it's a dealer network, and if not the original
owner, with documentation proving it, it'll cost
you more to get it serviced, then it would
be to replace it with a newer, better one.

I say shop for an all new system and be happy,
instead of patching it together.

But that's my choice, your's might
be different. Good luck with it.
