Car Alarms: Car Wont Start!!, fuse box, body control module

Question
I have an aftermarket alarm not sure what brand but the remote to the alarm not only controls the alarm but also the door "poppers"(I have shaved door handles) 8 months ago I began work on my engine and ripped it out and basically rebuilt it. It took 8 months but after putting all the parts back together and making sure all the electrical is connected the car wont turn over. The alarm doesnt arm/disarm and the door poppers dont work either. I dont know what to do because it seems like the car has no juice. Headlights, dash, nothing works. However everything is connected and the battery is good. I was told it was probably something to do with my alarm, hopefully you can help. By the way my car is a 95 Chevy S-10.

Answer
I would pull the alarm to start with, to see if
it's holding you back in anyway, but from the
sounds of it, you are not connected to the body
control module. This has nothing to do with
the alarm.

I would go back through the connection points
you made and the fuse box to track the problem.
The alarm does not sound like the culprit here.
It does not stop the electical system. If installed
it would stop the engine from cranking if
it had a starter kill relay inline on the starter.
But from the sounds of it, the assembly after the
engine is not completed.

Better check all that again.

Good hunting.
