Car Alarms: what alarm would work?, starter option, pontiac sunfire

I have a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire Convertible and would like to get a keyless entry security system. My question is whether or not it would matter what brand I buy. I have been looking online at different systems both with and without the remote starter option and I am not sure if any one will or will not work with my car. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Yes the brand is important, but it's not
the only consideration. In your case, this
car has some installation issues to get around
to do remote start, and the door locks.

If remote start is desired, the you must bypass
the OEM VATS-PASSLOCK I system and, relays might
be needed as well for the door locks.

a remote system (ie: keyless entry/car alarm/
