I have a 2005 Camry CLE with anti-theft system, and am looking for a competent remote start. I have installed systems before, but have been disappointed with the loss of vehicles own key fob and the tone which signals door lock/unlock. Any way to tie in an aftermarket system with the vehicle system?

What would you recommend for this vehicle? Do you carry them?

Thanks.
Answer -
I can get you anything from basic
remote start/keyless entry to the most
elaborate of systems.

The trouble here is that the key fob from Toyota
is rated at only 35 feet or less. You could not
control the remote start system effectively using
the factory remote. You would also have to get
2 systems to make it work. One to emulate the
frequency of the factory remote, and the remote starter
itself. And you would still need another part as well.
The new 2004-05 Camry now has a transponder ignition
imobilizor that you would need to bypass in order
to allow it to remote start.

Let me know if you can make do with longer range
transmitters, and better performance out
of your intended system here, and I will be glad
to make some solid suggestions for you.

I do have some very good systems at resonable cost
you can do yourself.

What would you recommend for:

(1) a system which would trigger off my current key fob (say by using the door lock or some other switch combination), and

(2) one which would replace (overlay) the factory system with a fob which replicates doors and trunk as well as start

(3) a keyless module for bypassing the anti-theft transponder.

Are install manuals available in pdf format before purchase?

Thanks.

Answer
1) a system which would trigger off my current key fob (say by using the door lock or some other switch combination), and <<<<<<well, the trouble there is that the factory fob can not control it directly. If you did it off the unlock
or lock output, then you would do that everytime you approached the car. Impracticle. There is a device
that adds to a factory system called the AL 100 but
all that would do is allow an extra channel to be
added to use the factory fob. You still would only have
35 feet or less, and no guaranties your
current fob has the capacitiy to make it work.

(2) one which would replace (overlay) the factory system with a fob which replicates doors and trunk as well as start.<<<<<I have several that fit the bill on this car.
All we need to do is figure out the level of system
you want to have. Once done, you would put the factory
fob away. Maybe a 2 way paging remote start/keyless entry alarm combo would do nicely here for you. Have a look at www.PAGINGALARMS.com . Any of theses systems would do well here, along with a transmod bypass module for the ignition.

(3) a keyless module for bypassing the anti-theft transponder. <<<<<<<no problem see note above.
In stock and ready to ship.

Are install manuals available in pdf format before purchase? <<<<<I only supply the pdf manuals for these
systems to my equipment buying customers. I send
it along, with the wiring data for the car, after
a sale is made. Go have a look at that page to see
if something strikes your fancy.

I of course will be here for the installation phase
to advise and consult until it's installed.

Let me know what your thoughts are.
